Outside the wire

Well just finished watching the  movie “Outside the Wire” on NETFLIX.  I actually  enjoyed most of it.  Great movie just to kill some time.  Ending is a bit out there but worth the killing of two hours of boredom in watching.  4 android officers out of 5.

Another boring AF Sunday

Well if Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest I guess I fulfilled every requirement.  Sure I did a couple of chores, but mostly I didn’t do squat.  Sadly, cause I got nothing to do and nobody to do it with.  When are these restrictions going to be over?

Dinner Time!

I didn’t feel like cooking tonight so I decided to head on out for the first time in 2021.  Been craving Thai food for quite awhile and I happen to have a great restaurant right up the road.   I usually eat in but, unfortunately, they have only take out due to COVID.  And this take out only policy is the main reason I haven’t been there in a year.  But I really wanted Thai.  So I made a quick phone call and headed on over to Aharn Thai and got some delicious food.  Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong thing.  Don’t know how I did it.  I wanted Kow pad ho kai (Thai style fried rice with egg, onions, tomatoes, and Chinese broccoli wrapped in egg), but I accidently ordered Pad Thai ho kai (rice noodles stir-fried with egg, bean sprouts, ground peanuts wrapped in egg).  The noodles were still good but not as good as the rice has been in the past.  Probably just because I wanted the rice.  I’ll have to go back soon and get the right stuff!

Trying to get this back

Photo by Prateek Katyal from PexelsWell been working on this page most of the day.  COVID “Stay at Home” and “Safer at Home” orders have shown that I really need an inside hobby.  I started this years ago, but have been neglecting it for years and thought this might be a good time to resurrect things.

Unfortunately, all the years of neglect has taken it’s toll.  Broken plugins and links. Comments not working. Facebook has changed their privacy settings so many of the “auto posts” I have been doing are broken.

But It’s all good.  I don’t want to start from scratch so I’m going to keep at this and see what happens.

Rogue

Well it’s a Friday Night and we’re still in COVID safer at home posture so trying to figure out something “fun” to do.  I decide on yet another movie.  After perusing the streaming platforms this movie keeps popping up on my Android TV as something I might like.  I figure what the hell I’m not doing anything and it doesn’t look to bad so I heat up a delicious dinner of frozen pizza, add a side salad and a nice adult beverage and start.  Within moments I realize this might have been a mistake.

Now I’m not going to describe the movie or throw in spoilers.  I just don’t do that.  But even the opening credits were awful.  You could tell how much money wasn’t put into this movie just by watching them.  But, I continued on.

Overall, I kind of enjoyed the movie, despite the issues it had… and there were so many issues.  Acting for the most part was fair for most of the actors although there were so extreamly bad acting as well.   The story was disjointed, camera work sloppy, CGI atrocious, and the script was just bad.  But I did find myself entertained and laughing throughout the movie, even though this was a comedy and I was being entertained by the sheer awefulness of the movie.

Still can’t recommend this movie to anyone.  Giving this movie 1 poorly CGI rendered tiger out of five.  If you’re looking at just wasting brain cells and a couple of hours go ahead and watch, but I would probably just pass on this one.

Wonder Woman 1984

OK.  I am a fan of Superhero movies.  Even the bad ones.  It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours just being entertained.  I was really looking forward to this long delayed release of Wonder Woman 1984.  And since I can watch it free on HBO MAX thought tonight would be the night to watch it and start of 2021.

And, what can I say. But, the editors and producers should have spent some of the delay time fixing some major issues with this movie.  Seems like other DC movies such as Suicide Squad and Justice League most of the good parts ended up on the cutting room floor.

This movie seemed to have great potential. The acting was pretty good (except Pedro Pascal who though I love in the Mandalorian I just hated here).  I thought Kristen Wiig was fantastic and Gal Gadot also had stellar moments. But overall it just didn’t do it for me. Sorry DC fans.

Overall giving this one 3.5 invisible jets out of five.  If you are a fan of DC or Superhero films in general this is a decent one to fill your COVID “Safer at Home” time.  However, if you take your films seriously you might want to skip.

Midnight Sky

Well not much to do for New Years Eve since Colorado is still in “Safer at Home” posture due to COVID, so I decided to watch this NETFLIX movie called Midnight Sky starring George Clooney.  Since, I am bored and don’t have much to do and since I need some original blog content I’ve decided to do a quick review.  Remember I am not a professional writer or reviewer so this might not be that good, but here we go.

I’ve always liked George Clooney.  Never thought he’s exceptional as an actor but he’s always enjoyable to watch.  This movie, however, is the exception to that case.  What can I say.  This movie was just boring, slow, not exciting.  I tried to watch it, but found myself just zoning out.  Maybe if I hadn’t I’d understand what was going on, but this just left me with more questions than answers.

Not going to go into details, no spoilers here, but WTF?  If you have nothing to do and nothing better to watch go ahead and watch this, but I can’t really recommend it.  Going to give it 3 satellite antennas out of of 5.  With a strong “meh” it’s sort of watchable.
