Arby’s locations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo will be serving veterans a free roast beef sandwich on Veterans Day 2011! Be sure to have some form of military ID or proof of service with you. It’s valid at participating locations only, and you may want to call ahead to confirm that your closest Arby’s is participating, as sometimes not all of them do.
The same deal is valid in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois; again at participating locations only.

Mona Lisa Fondue Restaurant in Manitou Springs, CO
My wife and I went here last Saturday for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. After reading many of the reviews on here, I was beginning to second guess my choice, but I am glad I didn’t listen to many on here. Our experience here was fabulous! The service couldn’t have be…en better, and the food was great. I made reservations and when we arrived we were taken immediately to a very nice, quiet, secluded room with only two other couples. The maitre de was quick in wishing us a Happy Anniversary, which both surprised and pleased my wife. Our server came to our table immediately and, since this was our first time, explained the whole ordering process. We ordered the Fondue for Two with the New World Cheese, Seafood Entrée Platter, and Flaming Turtle for desert. My wife ordered the “wine flight”, which pairs a glass of selected wine with each course, and I got a glass of the “house specialty” wine. Well, an interesting day today. Shortly after school started I got a call from the school nurse. Seems the boy had an extreme toothache and had to come home. Not a huge deal. Spent the afternoon heading to the dentist to see what was going on. Turns our nothing obvious was found, but if there is an infection or other problem it can take weeks or months even to show up. The dentist “sealed” the tooth, and now the boy seems fine. We’ll see how thing work out.
Went to get a new cell phone this evening. We currently subscribe to Qwest wireless ant they are shutting down service on 31 October. I am not too happy with the increase in cost, but it will be nice to have a new phone as I think mine is about 6 years old.
Dinner tonight was at the new Red Lobster on Powers. I love new restaurants, always so clean. Cost was a bit more than I care for, but the food was good and service excellent.
