Stimulus – The David Thuis Blog

Boy, this says it all in one short blurb…

Sent to me in my email.  Didn’t write it, but wish I had.

To Congress:

The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 – you’ve had 234 years to get it right; it’s broke.
!cid_2_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
Social Security was established in 1935 – you’ve had 74 years to get it right; it’s broke.
!cid_3_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
Fannie Mae was established in 1938 – you’ve had 71 years to get it right; it’s broke.
!cid_4_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 – you’ve had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn’t worked and our entire country is broke.
!cid_5_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 – you’ve had 44 years to get it right; they’re both broke.
!cid_6_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
Freddie Mac was established in 1970 – you’ve had 39 years to get it right; it’s broke.
!cid_7_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009…. none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new source: the American taxpayer.

And finally, to set a new record:

!cid_8_2163886852@web65516_mail_ac4_yahoo
"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress’ generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.

So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

20% of our entire economy?

With all due respect,

Are you crazy?

The Stimulus

Just forgot the part about them taking it back–with interest next tax season….

Some time this year, we taxpayers will again receive an Economic Stimulus payment. This is a very exciting program. I’ll explain it using the Q and A format:

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?

A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?

A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?

A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?

A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China?

A. Shut up!

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

.  If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.

. If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.

. If you purchase a computer, it will go to India.

. If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.

. If you buy a car, it will go to Japan or Korea.

.  If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan.

.  If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.

Instead, keep the money in America by:

1. spending it at yard sales, or

2. going to ball games, or

3. spending it on prostitutes, or

4. beer or

5. tattoos.

(These are the only American businesses still operating in the US .)

Conclusion:
Go to a ball game with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a yard sale and drink beer all day.
