And I can't even come up with something to blog everyday

Robert Shields, 77, of Dayton, Wash., is the author of perhaps the longest personal diary in history. His recordings of his daily events -- all of them, including his trips to the bathroom -- was started in 1972 and now stretches to 37.5 million words. Since having a stroke in 1991, his output has slowed to a mere 1 million words per year, but he still manages to transcribe his daily jottings on a typewriter, a task that takes about four hours a day. July 25, 1993, 7 a.m.: "I cleaned out the tub and scraped my feet with my fingernails to remove layers of dead skin." Jan. 27, 1994, 9:55 a.m.: "Jim Broatch of Milford, Conn., called ... he is head of some sort of organization that deals with compulsion and I admitted the diary was 'an obsession of sorts.' He is sending me free literature about the organization." Shields isn't recording his life to aid future historians. Rather, "you might say I'm a nut," he says simply. (AP)

COLORADO ROCKIES FORTH OF JULY GAME

Happy Independence Day everyone!

COLORADO ROCKIES FORTH OF JULY GAME

We spent last night watching the Colorado Rockies lose to the LA Dodgers :)
The first thing I noticed about going to a Rockies game is it is EXPENSIVE. Much more than I thought it would be. Parking was not an issue as we decided to take the RTD light rail into downtown. I found the light rail easy to use and very convenient. I will probably use it again to get to any "downtown" event. Riding home after the game was a bit crowded but RTD did have about 6 cars hooked up so not their fault.

Back to the game. Our seats were good but I don't know if they were worth the $40 we spent on them (guess we are spoiled with Sky Sox tickets where you can get Box Seats under $10). $9 dollars for a hot dog and drink and $6 for a beer was also a bit steep. I guess a happy six year old at his first Major League game and the great fireworks did make up for a bit of the cost, but still this will still be the only game for this year.

Denver Zoo

We started our Summer vacation today. We decided with gas prices the way they are, we would take a little drive north to Denver. First stop was the Denver Zoo. I have decided that I am going to review each of our stops.

The Denver Zoo:

This stop is always one of "the boys" favorites. He has visited the zoo twice already this year and I am sure there will be at least one more visit before the end of the summer. Growing up near Denver means I have visited the zoo a ton of times in the past, but this is my first visit in quite a while. The cost was right (we had free passes and parking is always free). First thing I noticed is how much more crowded things seemed than before. Tons to do in a little area. There are lots of signs telling you the direction of the animals but we still got turned areound a couple a times. We spent more than four hours here and still didn't see half the park. Still a great place to spend a day if you don't take a six year old with you?
