Slow Day

Finally a slow day.  Spent the day working around the house.   Highlight was taking the boy to soccer practice, which wasn’t much of a highlight.  I hate soccer season here in Colorado, it is always so cold.

Job Interviews and Dating

image

Today I had a second round of interviews at Northrop Grumman.  I think it went well.  As I do more of these I can’t help but compare a job interview to a date.  At the end of both you are left wondering did I screw up and will I ever get a call back.

Busy Tuesday

What a day today was…  Spent most of it at Northrop Grumman interviewing for a job… I know for a fact I did not get the job I walked in for, but I think they might hire me for another job they have.  Anyway five hours was a long, long day there.

After the interviews I came home and then headed to McDonalds for Springs Ranch Elementary School Spirit night… It was a nightmare but a good time.  Especially, watching the PE and technology teacher having a double cheeseburger eating contest… I know their arteries will be screaming tonight.

Then off to our monthly Pack Planning Meeting for the month of April for Cub Scouts….  and on top of that I still found time to turn in my ballot for today’s city election… whew!

Tomorrow… a slower day I hope… I need to go back to Northrop Grumman for another interview and well see what happens… I hope good things…

Webelos Trip to Construction Site

On April 6, 2009 the Webelos of Pack 225 took a trip to a construction site in order to work on their Engineer Activity Badge Location: Woodman & Rangewood

Quiet Week

Well I was doing so well posting updates in March, then I disappeared over the last week.

The boy was on his second week of Spring Break and we really did not do much, so not much to report.

We got a ton of snow so we stayed indoors mostly playing games and just hanging out.  It was actually nice just having some down time with him.

Soccer has started for the boy, well sort of.  We did have four practices and one game scheduled over the Spring break.  We had one practice and everything else was cancelled due to winter weather.

ummmm… I don’t have much to say.  I just had to post something (a personal thing).  This week looks pretty busy so maybe I’ll have more later.

Thank You!

I don’t have much to say today… But beimagefore I end my day I have to say THANK YOU to some folks.  Today I was awarded the BSA District Award of Merit.  This is the highest honor  that a district can bestow on one of its volunteer Scouters, and our District can only award two annually.

There are no “requirements” for this award, quite simply you are “secretly” nominated and an awards board reviews that nomination and the decides whether you are “worthy”.

So, THANK YOU to whomever put together the nomination package and turned it in to the powers that be, and THANK YOU to the District Board members who (oddly enough) decided my actions over the last year merited this award.

Lastly, I would be remise if I did not congratulate my good friend Will Bishop as well as the other recipient of this award this year.  You truly deserve this honor.

My head hurts :(

O.K. I knew I would pay for my day of overindulgence yesterday but I didn’t know today would be so rough.

Not only did I not sleep well last night due to burning sensation in my gullet (obviously spurred on by jalapenos and processed meat pizza), but I took my mid-term for my technical writing class on-line this afternoon.  I still can not believe how hard an open book test could be.  Ten questions and it took me almost three hours to complete.  Needed a little Motrin after that.

Now time for some sleep.  Have to drive to Limon tomorrow for the High Plains District Awards Dinner (for Scouts).
