Second Day of School
Well today may be the second day of school but the boy got to do something he’s always wanted to do, but never did… Ride the school bus! All the other years he hashad to stay at the school and wait for someone to pick him up from a program called champions. Now that I am a stay at home dad, no more waiting.
This fuzzy grainy picture shows him getting of the bus in the afternoon. Some day I’ll really have to get a cell phone that take a decent picture. Either that or start carrying a digital camera in my pocket at all times.
First Day of School
Today was the Boy’s first day at school as a mighty 3rd grader. He sure is getting bigger everyday. I spent my first official “day off” getting some work done around the house and updating the Cub Scout website. We were supposed to have a Den Meeting with the boys tonight, but decided not to as to many parents thought a meeting on the first day of school was just too much.

Back to School Picnic
Today was the day of the 5th Annual Pack 225 Back to School Picnic. Over all it went pretty well. I thought the event was going to be a miserable failure when we had to wait 20 minutes to start the picnic, because we only had about five boys at opening ceremony time. 20 minutes later, when we did start, we had only eleven, but within the first hour we had about forty boys and their families so it filled up fast. Had to do some quick thinking to keep everyone engaged but I think we pulled it off.

Back to School Night
Well tonight was Back to School night at good ol SRES. Got to go in and see everyone we haven’t seen over the summer and meet the boys new teacher. Unfortunately, my visit was cut short when I found out the local Scout District has decided to do some recruiting tonight. So it was rush home and change so I could help out (ended doing the last hour solo… oh well). Recruited 6 new boys to the pack so I am not complaining… much.
Three Year Anniversary
Today is the three year anniversary of the Thuis.US blog. 335 posts may not seem like much, but seems like a lot to me. Anyway, heres to another year!
