Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch has been evacuated and those children were relocated at the Elbert County Fairgrounds located in Kiowa, at 95 Ute Ave.
There are no immediate plans for returning to the Boy Scout Ranch so parents are instructed to come to the Elbert County Fairgrounds for reunification with their children. Please bring your identification with you for release.

Selfishly glad that the wind has changed and I didn’t have to drive home in the same blinding smoke I drove to work in.. Not happy to see how large the wall of smoke has grown just a few miles to the north. via Facebook

Just heard on the radio from Care and Share that no more water or Gatorade is needed for firefighters, they have plenty. Still want to help Firefighterneed energy snacks like protein bars and evacuees need boexed/caned foods like soup/cereal via Facebook

It’s my FRIDAY! Looking forward to my weeked, even if I am confined to quarters due to air quality. The boy has been buggin me to go see the new Star Trek movie, so we’re doing that tonight.
