First District Meeting

As the new school year edges closer and closer it’s time to start talking cub scouts.  Tonight we had our first District level meeting to discuss fall recruiting.  Looks like our District Exec won’t be able to conduct most of the Open houses and Rallies he normally holds so he asked the very small district staff to help out.  I personally have at least one school to visit nearly every day for the next week.  I don’t really mind helping out too much, but I hope it doesn’t open the door to bigger expectations. I am only supposed to be the webmaster, not a recruiter 🙂

New Family Member

000_0171 Well the boy got a new pet today.  A guinea pig… who remains nameless…  I don’t know anything about guinea pigs so I guess we’ll learn together.  All I know is that I hope this will end a two year constant begging for a pet.

First Webelos Trip of the New School Year

Oath The beginning of the new school year may still be a few weeks away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn something new.  Today ten of the Pack 225 first and second year Webelos headed off to the Bear Creek Nature Center to work on their Naturalist Activity Badge.  They learned all kinds off cool stuff and even got to see some baby hummingbirds in a nest.  I think they all had a good time, even if they were learning.
