Another quiet Friday

mist

Hello everyone.  Not much to report today.  The Boy spent the night at a buddies house last night so I got to sleep in a bit today (nice after yesterday).   I picked him up after lunch and he accompanied me up to Peterson AFB were they were have a Flu Shot Clinic at the Base Theater.  The boy was a reluctant to go in with me as he remembered getting stuck last year, but what a great trooper he was as he bravely walked through the front doors.  Luckily this year neither one of us got “stuck” as we were both ushered into the “Flu Mist” line.  A little squirt in each nostril and out the door we went.  Nice and easy.  Best of all, since I am a military retiree, it was free for both of us.

We then went to get our haircut, but unfortunately our favorite barber was off today so that will have to wait.

We then went to dinner with some friends at Xiang’s Kitchen.  A local Chinese restaurant who’s dinner portions are so large I shared mine with two boys under 12, and still left full.

Popcorn Thursday

Man what a day!  I spent the entire day (10 hours) at the local Boy Scout Council office collecting popcorn sales forms for our entire district (basically east Co Springs to Kansas border).  I had just agreed to help our District Executive, but at the last minute he had to go to the ER with someone and that left me solo.  I did have another volunteer come in and help for a while, but while he was there it was pretty dead.  As soon as he left… BAM… It got busy.  It felt good to actually do some work, but talk about trial by fire.  Oh well, unconfirmed, rumor has it that we earned very low seven figures (I don’t want to say the actual amount) this year throughout the entire Council (consists of four Districts) so I guess that’s good.

I Voted!

ivotedsticker Since the Bronco game was a bit of a snoozer, I took the opportunity to fill in my mail-in ballot.  It took a while researching and filling in the largest ballot in the nation (my hand is still cramping), but it’s all done and in the mail.

No matter which method you use this year to vote… VOTE!
