Early Cinco De Mayo

Well today was a fairly slow day again.  The wife had a baby shower this afternoon and the boy and I stayed home and "relaxed".  Tonight we attended a "little" Cinco De Mayo party.  Carne Asada and lots of other food.  Maybe a bit too  much "celebration" occurred.  The boy spend the night at the party house with about a dozen other boys.

Friday, 2 May

Well, a pretty quiet day today.  Not much to report.  "The Boy" is still off of school, but we didn’t do much today.  He still has a cold.  He is feeling better but still not 100%.  The wife and I went out to dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery, but the boy stayed home with a sitter.

More Thursday

Well the snow stopped around lunch time and it turned out to be a pretty nice day.  Too bad "the boy" seems to have a pretty bad cold.  Some of his friends wanted to come over and play and he told them he didn’t feel well enough, so he must be sick.

Had Roundtable for scouts tonight.  Not one of the best I’ve been to, but not the worst.

By the way happy May Day!

It’s Another Blizzard Day!

000_0167 O.K. technically not a blizzard, but boy is it snowing outside.  Big change from the sunny and warm of yesterday.  Springtime in Colorado isn’t it grand.  The boy is off of school today as the school is conducting reading assessments on the students for the next few days.  I was hoping to get outside sometime over the next couple of days, but it won’t be today.

Great Day

Today was a pretty good day.   Although it doesn’t feel like I got much accomplished, I think I did a little bit.  Weather was beautiful today nearly 80 degrees and sunny.  Spent a lot of my time out on the back porch enjoying it.  It did get a bit windy this afternoon but nothing to complain about.

Tonight the School held their first Cinco De Mayo fiesta.  Just basically a potluck with some games.  We went and it wasn’t too bad.

Tuesday Update

Tuesday, April 29th – I am supposed to be plugging my info into some job sites today.  I just don’t feel up to it.  I am doing it, but easily distracted.  IMing with my old school buddy Richard (Zeus) while I work, so that’s helping a bit.  Computer is running a bit slow so that is a bit frustrating.  Have to get ready for tonight’s Pack meeting.  Normally these are on Monday’s but last night the school held spirit night at Skate City (we did not attend) so we moved the meeting to tonight.  Not prepared at all for the meeting… guess I’ll wing it and see how it goes.  Is summer here yet?

IMG_0032_edited-1Well it’s now later in the day, and the Pack meeting is over.  All in all it went pretty well.  Attendance was pretty low, but I blame that on having to move nights.   There was a small scheduling conflict we had to work out on the fly.  Seems the school scheduler had booked three groups in the gym at the same time (us, Girl Scouts, and Tai Kwon Do).  Girls Scouts were very cooperative and moved into the art room, we arranged to move the Tai Kwon Do class into the cafeteria but the instructor was having nothing to do with that.  Seems he was mad that he was bumped from the gym last week for the science fair (sorry you were move for an official school function) and wasn’t moving again.  Long story short, after some slightly heated discussion, six kids did Tai Kwon Do in the large gym and we crammed about 100 people into the smaller cafeteria.  One of the teachers from the school opened the meeting with a short magic show that was a great hit.  It was got hot and it was crowded, but the kids did well for about 40 minutes, then started to lose interest.  We moved the meeting a bit quicker and finished in record time.  I am sure "the wife" who is also our school representative for scouts (known as the Charted Organization Representative or C.O.R.) will be having some discussions with the school scheduler tomorrow.
