Looking for a job Day
Man I am tired today. Even though I was exhausted last night, I just couldn’t seem to get to sleep.
Today was Job Search day. Got up early this morning and got all dressed up and headed off to the Doubletree Hotel Colorado Springs-World Arena where the NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS ASSOCIATION was holding the "JOB LEADER” NATIONAL JOB FAIR. Spent the morning in a seminar titled “How to Work a Job Fair”. The seminar was great, the job fair not so good. No companies/jobs there interested me. Oh well there is always next time.
After a quick lunch with the wife, I came home and spent most of the afternoon/evening on-line filling out applications. Two for the Army and two for the Air Force (Civilian side of course). Of Course they don’t share the application process, so lots of work there. I don’t expect any of the four jobs I applied for, but you never know.
Happy Cinco De Mayo
I hope everyone had a great day!
I got to spend a lovely day with the Third Graders from Springs Ranch Elementary School at the Paint Mines Interpretive Park Near Calhan, Colorado.
It was hot and boy did we hike a ton, but I think everyone had a pretty good time. We must have hiked at least 7 miles in the nearly six hours we spent there, but again I can’t complain I still need the exercise.
After we got back to the school I stuck around and helped the kids work
on some animal art projects they are making. Definitely different, but fun.
Tonight, we had the first Den meeting of the month. It was still went pretty good even though the boys were spent and slightly sunburned from our trip with the school. This months theme is "Leaf it to Cubs" and we are primarily looking at trees. We had the boys choose what type of tree they wanted to be and the write a "resume" listing their qualities. The winner got to be placed in my back yard. :) After the resume we went outside and broke the boys into two teams. Each team had two minutes to look around and observe "nature". After the two minutes were up we went back inside and each team had one minute to write down what they saw. Some very interesting items were brought up.
We ended a bit early as we were all tired. No one complained…

Well must not have partied to hard last night. Was up at 6:30 this morning. The wife must not have heard that Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. She put me to work today. Tons of yard work done today and I am exhausted. Oh well I needed the exercise.
