Spring Carnival
Today we spent most of our time at the SRES spring Carnival. "The Boy" had a great time trying out all the games while I recruited boys for the Cub Scout Pack. We did not do too bad as we got about a dozen new boys...
To be honest I barely know what a "blog" is let alone what to do with it. But since I have this new website I figure I can learn exactly what it is. In the mean time you can read the ramblings of a pretty boring guy.

O.K. I said I was going to keep this updated more often and I am failing miserably. Been way busy. Just been appointed as Committee Chairman for "the boys" Cub Scout Pack. Trying to get everything good in that department. For those who don't know this position is "in charge" of all the adults, budget, awards, etc. Basically, running the Packs annual program. Now I got some great folks working with me but trying to arrange the meetings etc. has been a pretty good challenge.
I had my first meeting last Tuesday and I thought it was pretty good. It went too long though so I have to work on that. In all fairness we did have an unannounced visit by the District Executive so that threw off the meeting a bit. I am not complaining though, because he gave us some fantastic information.
O.K. I am also still doing the Den Leader thing, Soccer season just started on base (I am a coach again), I am running two websites, and getting ready for retirement. So time management is becoming a huge challenge. I did just win the Armed Services Volunteer Service Medal so some recognition there... but still maybe I should taper it down a bit.
Well got to go for now, got more "official" e-mails to go though and we just got back from Soccer practice and dinner with some friends.
Well what can I say? This weekend was fantastic! On Saturday we attended the Colorado Avalanche game for Scout day at the Avalanche. We had some FANTASTIC seats (even had our own waiter!). And to top it of the Avs won! Click below to see the pics...
After the Avs game we came home to find dinner ready. Cooked by my Sister-in-Law and our Niece. You just can't beat coming home to a home cooked meal.
The evening was highlighted by a going away party for my favorite co-worker at a place called Oscar's downtown. The band was excellent (I have no idea what they called themselves) and the beer was cold (and in many cases free!). My Brother-in-Law went with us and I even think he had a great time, even though, he didn't know anyone before we walked in the door.
My Brother-In-Law, Sister-in-law, Niece, and Nephew all spent the night at our house as my niece had volleyball games (http://spectrumvolleyball.com/) here in town. I only saw one round and, unfortunately, they lost the round.
