Day at the "new" Elitch Garden's

Well we got a couple of free season passes to Elitch Garden's down in Denver so today we decided to check them out. Nothing really new since the sale of the park by Six Flags. As a matter of fact it appear that all the new owners did was remove the Six Flag stuff and press on. For example you could still see hands of the old characters mysteriously holding onto items around the park. I still don't like to new park downtown. But having grown up in the old park (and even worked there for a couple years) I geuss I am a bit biased.

I was browing the web and found this site which has views of the "urban development being done at the old park site. I don't know how old the pictures are as I haven't been in that neck of the city in quite some time. Kind of of a shame though when you look at how the old site turned out.

First Ball game of the Season

We had our first youth Base ball game of the season tonight! Had such a good time lost track of the final score (not that we keep track of those things :) )

Deerfield Hills Spray Ground!

Today took "the boy" and his friend "T-Dog" to a new place called Deerfield Hills Spray Ground near where we live. I think they had a good time. Some photos below that were taken with the cell phone. The sun was so bright I couldn't see the screen so the are a bit blurry.

Computer Problems

Well spent a frustrating day down at my moms house working on her computer. Seems here hard drive crashed a few weeks back and she had to buy a new drive. She tried to recover her data but everything wasn't working right. She took it to a "computer shop" to get it back to normal and they stated it was back to "normal". However, I spent 4 hours fixing the "normal". No Anti virus, no firewall, software was outdated, etc. Most frustrating was that her I-Tunes wasn't working... and she NEEDED her I-tunes. Two hours of fiddling and some research found the problem was Quicktime and not I-Tunes. Once problem discovered it was a pretty easy fix, but it took awhile to get there.

Quiet Day

Not much to report today. As the past few days go pretty quiet. "The boy" had a dentist appointment this morning and got a clean bill of health. "The wife" came home from D.C. and wanted to go out for the afternoon. We ended up seeing the new movie "Surfs Up". I guess it was O.K. Not the best movie I've seen but it filled a couple of hours. Ended the day with a back yard BBQ. Cheap steaks and grilled corn on the cobb. Tasted great.

First Baseball Practice

Well today a bit more relaxing than some of the last few. Although "the boy" did go to Archery camp, I wimped out and stayed home. I was beat still from yesterday. We did have our first baseball practice on the base today. Red Sox is our team this year and we are looking pretty good. At least as good as 7-9 year old players can look at the first practice. All the kids were beat as most spent the day doing a camp or event of some sort. Keeping them on their feet was quite a challenge, but then again it always is. I thought I took a few more pictures, but I must have been busy coaching :)

"The Wife" has been in Washington D.C. all week. She comes back tomorrow. Can't wait so she can give me some sort of a break... yeah right :)

Another Day at Archery Camp

Well spent another hot day at the USAFA helping with the archery camp. It wasn't too bad but a lot of trekking up and down the mountains.

Archery Camp

Well so far retirement has not been as relaxing as expected :) Got a call this morning (early) from the youth sports director at Peterson AFB stating he needed help at today's archery camp at the USAF Academy. So spent the entire day helping up there.

Last Soccer Game of the Season

Well today was the end of another season of coaching as "Team Russia" had their last game of the season. I think we did quite well considering how late I was up last night "celebrating" my retirement. I really like coaching but it is always great to end a successful season.

UPDATE (July 29,2007): The below pictures were "borrowed" from my dad's picasaweb site!

I am now retired! (Sort of)

Well sorry for the break in the postings. Been very bust preparing for yesterdays big ceremony. What ceremony you may ask. Well my retirement ceremony! Held at the Sky Sox Stadium (AKA Security Service Field, I think it was a great time! Although my actual retirement date isn't until 1 Sep, I have so much leave saved up that I decided to go ahead and move on. You can view pictures below.
